On the road to South Carolina

After a month in Florida, it was time to move on.  So we headed north.

As we travelled through Georgia, we saw many signs for Peach World which we couldn't pass up.  Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture but we scored a basket of the best peaches (Georgia peaches really ARE the best) we've ever tasted.

Back on the road and because meals are the most important part of the day for me, we took the next exit and found this.

Smokin' Pig???  Sounded interesting so we went in.

No frills but a good old fashioned southern BBQ joint.  I don't know if customers donated these or just how they came about but I couldn't resist taking a photo.  See the Wisconsin plate by the paper towels?  Oink.  Classic!

Then it was back on the road to head north to our RV Park in Hardeeville, South Carolina.  We picked this spot because it was right off the freeway and about equal distance to Savannah, Hilton Head, and Beaufort.

We're here!

Cute little office with a small general store.

Almost like Kauai with chickens running around.  Fortunately, they seemed to stay up near the front so we didn't have to dodge the droppings.

We had a few days of touring ahead of us so we were happy to get in early so we could relax before we set out the next day.

Stay tuned for some tourist activities.

  1. Are you going to Savannah? Have you been there before? It's beautiful. All the brick buildings that you don't see in California really struck me. They're gorgeous!
