Alamo

No, not that Alamo but Alamo, Nevada.  My sister asked me once what was in Alamo and I said it was just a good stopping point and as it turns out, that's about all it was.  Fortunately, it was right on the highway and easy to get in and out of - a kind gentleman even came out to guide us in!

We'd had a long day so we didn't do anything other than watch TV and go to bed so we could get an early start in the morning.

Ron was disappointed that we didn't get to Tonopah, which is about an hour southwest of Alamo (in the wrong direction).  We learned about this town when we saw the series "Turquoise Fever" last year.  It was a very interesting show that follows the Otteson family in their quest for gems long buried in the Nevada dessert.  Turquoise is Ron's favorite stone and he would buy me as many necklaces as I could wear.  Maybe on another trip through Nevada.

We didn't learn much new today other than the fact that Alamo really is nothing more than a stopping point.

  1. Do you have a timetable for being in certain places?

    1. You don't HAVE to but I'm not one to just punt so we have reservations for all of the parks.
