We made it to Florida and although we were early for check-in, we took a chance and drove straight to the RV Park in Summerfield, which is pretty much in the center of the state.
The office was really nice. It was no accident that we had mail waiting for us upon our arrival thanks to Amazon Prime.
Of course, we had to stop for lunch.
And since they weren't busy, we were able to check in early. The park was pretty empty and we had a nice spot.
No tornado shelters in the laundry room here. There were A LOT of washers and dryers and you paid by phone - I loved it!

The pool was nice but not used much.
There is also a nice little firepit area right across the road from us. The first night we were here there was a group out there being a little noisy but, thankfully, no corn hole. Since then it's been quiet.
The first few days we were here we explored The Villages, This is a census designated area which between 2010 and 2020 was the fastest growing metropolitan area in the US, growing 39% from about 93,000 residents to about 130,000. It covers an area of about 32 square miles and is made up of 17 special districts and has 55 golf courses. The Villages boasts that with your $179 monthly fee, residents can play golf for free for life.
After lunch we took a walk around "town" and found that the most common form of transportation is the golf cart. Ron has always said he needs a golf cart because everyone has a smile on their face as they putz around town.
We were in the village right on the water and it was so relaxing. Although this little boat seemed to have had some problems.
The next day we went back for lunch since it's only about 5-10 miles away. We picked this spot.
I seem to have a theme of taking photos in bathrooms but this was too good to just walk away without a picture of the door handle.
We stopped into the information center and got a ton of information but I don't think it's necessarily the place for us. But it's a fun place to visit!
Maybe I'm being too nosey but why is it not "necessarily" the place for you?
ReplyDeleteWe loved it there but the lots are small and there are a ton of people smashed together. Plus as opposed to us, the residents are old. LOL!
